Chronicles
is a page that we have set up since 2007 to provide our researchers with a space to share their personal journals that they jolted down during the field research. Please note that these are not the so-called fieldnotes as it is populary known in academic research environment. We provide this page to cover some human interests of our researchers day to day experience during the course of their fieldwork. The journal could possibly be thematically related to the theme of the research they are conducting or do not have anything to do with it. They are just personal.See some excerpts

Notes from a "Terra Incognita"
First Day in Medan I almost failed to fly to Medan this morning. For Mandala airline, I was "blamed" for not confirming my flight a day before departure. For me, the rule is too bureaucratic. As long as I know, this is the only airline that obliges their passenger to give report about their plan of departure (though in fact they already issued the ticket, like me, which I guess can be interpreted as a kind of confirmation about departure plan).
